Visit Ghana Campaign Set to Take Ghana’s Tourism Brand to the Premier League
Ghana is preparing to take its tourism promotion to a global football audience through a proposed partnership with Sunderland AFC.
The initiative, announced by Speaker of Parliament Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, is expected to feature the “Visit Ghana” brand on Sunderland’s jersey during the 2026/27 English Premier League season.
The project is being led by the private sector, with support from relevant Ghanaian institutions. The campaign is designed to use the international reach of the Premier League to promote Ghana as a destination for tourism, culture, heritage and investment.
If implemented as announced, the initiative would give Ghana significant exposure through Premier League broadcasts, digital platforms and international media.

For Ghana’s tourism industry, the opportunity goes beyond football. The global visibility could help introduce potential visitors to Ghana’s beaches, heritage sites, festivals, cuisine, culture and hospitality.
The partnership is part of a broader effort to position Ghana more strongly within the international tourism market.
